INSTALL NEW POWER SUB PANEL FOR MISSION CRITICAL SITE

Project scope is to design and install new medium and low voltage power infrastructure to support the customer’s upgraded critical hardware system. The new system includes long-range communications technology utilizing copper and structured cabling fiber optic systems.

RENOVATE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES AND RESTROOMS

Install a new 112.5kVA transformer, 480-208/120V panel board, and associated distribution to renovate administrative office area. New loads include lighting, receptacles, communication racks, fire alarm and mass notification systems, and HVAC system.

REPLACE UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY (UPS)

Designed and replaced multiple uninterruptible power supply units that support critical launch operations. Existing units were at end of life and posed imminent failure, becoming increasingly unacceptable for facility operations. Reconfigured and installed new facility uninterruptible power supply unit which supports critical launch operations. Consulted with customer and determined system requirements including consolidation, connection points, and resizing capacity and battery runtime to ensure desired functionality. Performed systems testing and integrated controls into existing system.

RENOVATE/UPGRADE ENTRY CONTROL FACILITY GUARD SHACK

Implemented electrical renovations to the entry control facility guard shack for critical tracking station. Upgrades included new LED light fixtures, receptacles, and copper and fiber telecommunications infrastructure.

REPAIR GENERATOR AND RECONFIGURE CIRCUITS

Evaluated facility power distribution and identified critical loads throughout the building. Designed new system with backup generator which provides increased power reliability, optimized distribution to minimize voltage drop, and equipment selection for adequate protection from high interrupting currents. Final engineered package consisted of a new 250kW generator, two automatic transfer switches, and various panel boards to adequately support loads throughout the facility.

SOLAR INVERTER PV SYSTEM EVALUATION AND REPAIRS

Investigated and performed evaluation of the facility’s solar inverter and photovoltaic system. Provided electrical recommendations and repair services to bring system back into compliance and full efficiency, ensuring customer receives maximum energy credits.

SUBSTATION UPGRADES

Project design comprised a full replacement of the launch complex’s two 2500kVA service transformers and dual fed substation, new medium voltage components, new SEL automated control system, and building modifications. Initial power system study was conducted for current and future loads, while working with Base CE to identify clearance points and promote system reliability. Provided specification of new reclosers, voltage regulators, transformers, switchgear, automation controls system, and management of construction phase to ensure installation is in accordance with design and operated seamlessly with existing systems infrastructure.

REPLACE 1000KW GENERATORS

Project scope consisted of installation of two 1000kW backup generators and reconfiguring circuits to support critical mission requirements. Customer plans to revitalize building and transform usage to facilitate future team working environment. Design of service equipment and generators was key to providing a dependable base and allow subsequent systems to be effortlessly built upon and support new facilities.

INSTALL POWER CIRCUITS FOR PROOF LOAD EQUIPMENT

Provided electrical engineering design to install new infrastructure for unique launch critical equipment power requirements. Scope of design included new specialized power circuits, overhead utility support structure, extended grounding plan, and modified lightning protection system.

SERVICE TRANSFORMER AND DISTRIBUTION REPLACEMENT

Consulted with customer to replace antiquated equipment and promote system with ease of maintenance, utilizing newer technology and safer maintenance practices. Project scope consisted of replacing a 750kVA service transformer, 12kV power pole components, main service switchgear, and various 480V distribution panels in the facility. Tasks included scope development with Base CE and facility occupants, selecting and procuring equipment, installation, and closeout.

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY COURTHOUSE ELECTRICAL UPGRADE

Provided complete electrical engineering design to bring obsolete electrical equipment up to current code and safety standards. Design included replacement of building service switchboard, various panelboards, and associated feeders. Final design package consisted of a complete set of drawings and specifications issued for construction.

REPLACE FENCES, GATES, TURNSTILES

Designed and implemented new perimeter fence around large critical facility complex. New fencing system comprised of vehicle gates, personnel gates, access control system, and security infrastructure with associated power requirements. Collaborated with customer to ensure maximum security measures, incorporating fiber optic intrusion detection system and security lighting on the perimeter fence.

Designed and implemented systems to upgrade facilities to sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIF). Security system comprised of access control system (ADS), intrusion detection system (IDS), associated power requirements with uninterruptible power supply. Cabling system included JWICS, SIPR, and NIPR cabling, as well as fiber optic interconnections between various buildings. Worked with customer from conceptual design to implementation and commissioning.

REDESIGN ELECTRICAL SERVICE INFRASTRUCTURE

Studied existing electrical system and reallocated loads to utilize service more efficiently with future desired configuration and processes. Worked with customer to outline requirements that satisfy enterprise conformance and implement reliable sequence of operations. Design was based on reliability centered maintenance to ensure necessary controls and ease of maintenance. Project scope consisted of electrical design to replace a 2000A dual service switchgear and associated components, install two new backup generators, and replace various distribution power panels throughout the facility to support critical mission requirements.

ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION LOW TENTION

Studied existing electrical system and reallocated loads to utilize service more efficiently with future desired configuration and processes. Worked with customer to outline requirements that satisfy enterprise conformance and implement reliable sequence of operations. Design was based on reliability centered maintenance to ensure necessary controls and ease of maintenance. Project scope consisted of electrical design to replace two 3000kVA service transformers and associated components, install two new backup generators, and replace various distribution power panels throughout the facility to support critical mission requirements.
